THE TOURNAMENT

GREAT SPONSOR

For the 2025 Bay of Plenty 5 Course Classic, we are delighted to have the continued support from title sponsors Barfoot & Thompson. With now over a 100 years of real estate experience, Barfoot & Thompson have indelibly stamped their mark on the Auckland and Northland markets with a clear understanding of how those unique communities work.  They have been spreading their professional service wings to the Bay of Plenty region for over a year now, with incredible success.

Barfoot & Thompson have a huge investment interest in top level sport - their distinctive blue & yellow logo is seen on the rugby jerseys of the Blues in Super Rugby, Auckland, North Harbour, Northland and Counties Manukau in the NPC, also on the Mystics and Stars Netball Teams, along with the Auckland Marathon and NZ Squash Open.

"Barfoot & Thompson are excited to support the BOP 5 Course Classic. It is our goal that sponsorships such as this will help the growth of golf at a community level through to those who reach professional status. Our company is proud to be an integral part of the places where we do business. Whether supporting sports teams, or helping community organisations, we love to play a part in making Auckland, Northland and the Bay of Plenty (Tauranga) great places to work and live".

The Bay of Plenty 5 Course Classic, attracts a large number of returning players; the camaraderie enjoyed and lifelong friendships that evolve are clearly evident. It is also a hugely popular format attracting new golfers to the region to enjoy a ‘feast of golf’!

The Bay of Plenty is the perfect summer holiday destination not only for the golf but for beaches, local shopping, restaurants, cafes and fun tourist adventures.

THE PROGRAMME

The tournament programme is set over 5 days playing 5 championship courses - Mount Maunganui, Omanu, Omokoroa, Tauranga and Te Puke. The Mount Maunganui course is ranked in NZ's Top 40 courses and along with Te Puke, Tauranga and Omanu has regularly hosted national events. Te Puke hosted the NZ PGA in 2021. Tauranga and Mount Maunganui annually host events on the NZ Golf Charles Tour.

The competition format is stableford over 5 rounds. Under the World Handicap System, handicaps will be changed daily. Prizes are awarded daily, with overall prizes by multiple handicap divisions at the end of the week.

The field is limited to the first 500 entries received. Players are drawn into four equal groups, and play a different course over the 5 days. You can nominate your playing rotation on entry; let us know the names of your travelling friends and we will do our best to arrange for you to play on the same courses.

All participants enjoy a fantastic week of golf and social activities and the best weather that the Bay of Plenty can offer.
